Washington Floral Service is a local family-owned business operating since 1936, distributing cut flowers, plants, floral supplies, and interior accents throughout the northwest. We distribute product to Western Washington from our Tacoma location, and to Eastern Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming from our Spokane location.

This position is for our Tacoma operation.

Your Role: We are looking for a reliable, outgoing and upbeat professional to communicate regularly with our customers to sell our products. This role would include selling on the phone as well as in person with our walk-in customers and will work predominately in our Plant Department. This role would require learning product varieties and care, sorting and receiving of incoming product, pulling and packing of orders, order entry and communications with customers.

The ideal candidate for this position will be friendly, outgoing and won't be flustered by a fast-paced work environment. This is also a service position, so good customer relation skills are essential. Prior experience with indoor plants is preferred but not required. We operate as a small close-knit team, with everyone pitching in to assist with whatever needs doing. This will mean lots more than just assisting customers; you will be doing a little of everything, including pulling orders, packing product, stocking the shelves and assisting co-workers with various tasks.

Work Schedule: This position is a Sunday through Friday position, with Saturday and one weekday off (day to be determined).

Pay & Benefits: Compensation for this position starts at $15 per hour. Benefits include paid medical, dental & prescription, paid time off, sick leave, and 401k retirement plan with employer matching.

Tasks:

Assisting customers with plant purchases, giving advice as needed

Accepting inbound phone calls from customers, taking orders and answering questions

Making regular outbound sales calls to your customer list

Filling customer orders accurately

Assisting customers with returns or credits

General problem and complaint resolution

New customer outreach and acquisition

Maintaining paperwork in an organized manner

General Skills & Requirements:

General computer skills

General knowledge of plant varieties, care, pests & diseases

Good phone skills and manners

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to work to deadline, independently and as a team

Ability and willingness to multitask

This is a physically demanding job, requiring the ability to stand for long periods, squat, twist, lift and carry boxes often exceeding 50 lbs

Fluent English is required
