Job Purpose:
The Bull Durham Bar Server is responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests by providing a welcoming atmosphere, taking accurate drink orders, and ensuring a high-quality dining experience. The role involves working collaboratively with the bar and restaurant team to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar area, while adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive.
- Accurately take and deliver drink orders, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the bar menu, including cocktails, wines, and other beverages.
- Prepare and serve drinks according to the established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every order.
- Provide recommendations and answer any questions guests may have regarding the bar menu, demonstrating a deep understanding of the offerings.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware, cleaning countertops, and restocking supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure seamless service and a positive guest experience.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, seeking to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of the bar area for special events or functions, as required.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to bar service and hospitality.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and handle cash or credit card payments securely and efficiently.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues and promoting a culture of excellence and service.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Additional certifications in hospitality or food service management are preferred but not mandatory
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a bar or restaurant environment is essential.
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience in handling cash transactions and using point-of-sale systems efficiently.
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel or upscale dining establishment is advantageous
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of beverage preparation, including cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
