About The Opportunity:
Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS) is hiring two Supervisors to join our newly formed Collections and Technical Services team as we transition to a centralized model for managing physical and digital library collections. Reporting to the Collections & Technical Services Manager, these roles will provide leadership, supervision, and strategic coordination to ensure efficient workflows and reliable access to library materials across Washington County.
These are new positions and key leadership roles in a systemwide transition that will centralize collection development and technical services operations across a 16-library cooperative by July 2027. These positions will lead with clear communication, data informed decision-making, and strong working relationships to improve both access and efficiency in collections for library users.
Applicants may be considered for one or both Supervisor roles.
Collections Supervisor
The Collections Supervisor Leads Systemwide Collection Development And Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Services. This Role Provides Strategic Direction For How Physical And Digital Collections Are Selected, Managed, And Shared Across The Cooperative. Key Responsibilities Include:
Technical Services Supervisor
The Technical Services Supervisor Leads Systemwide Technical Services Operations, Including Acquisitions, Cataloging, Processing, And Interlibrary Loan (ILL). This Role Ensures That Centralized Workflows Are Scalable, Efficient, And Aligned With Systemwide Service Goals As WCCLS Begins Purchasing And Preparing Up To 200,000 Physical Items Annually. Key Responsibilities Include:

Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS) is a partnership between Washington County, 9 cities, and 3 nonprofit associations, supporting 16 public library locations through shared funding, collections, technology, and cooperative governance.
While partner libraries have historically managed physical collections locally, WCCLS has provided centralized digital collections. Partners have now committed to fully centralizing collection management and technical services by July 2027 to support long‑term sustainability, efficiency, and equitable access countywide.

- Supervising the Collections team that includes four Librarian selectors and one Senior Library Assistant
- Leading centralized collection development and the Library Mail Service program
- Overseeing an estimated $6 million annual collections budget
- Guiding the selection and distribution of approximately 200,000 new items per year within a systemwide collection of nearly 1.4 million items
- Using data, community insight, and collaborative decision‑making to support consistent access and service across diverse communities
Technical Services Supervisor
The Technical Services Supervisor Leads Systemwide Technical Services Operations, Including Acquisitions, Cataloging, Processing, And Interlibrary Loan (ILL). This Role Ensures That Centralized Workflows Are Scalable, Efficient, And Aligned With Systemwide Service Goals As WCCLS Begins Purchasing And Preparing Up To 200,000 Physical Items Annually. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supervising the Technical Services team that includes one Librarian Cataloger, one Senior Library Assistant, and four Library Assistants
- Supervising and supporting acquisitions, cataloging, processing, and mail services
- Designing and managing efficient, sustainable workflows that support timely access to materials
- Partnering with libraries to ensure centralized services meet local service needs
- Reducing bottlenecks and operational strain during and after centralization

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a health, social service, business, or related field; AND three (3) years of work experience in program administration, development, evaluation, and/or contract administration. OR
- Seven (7) years of work experience in program administration, development, evaluation, and/or contract administration.
- Some positions in this classification may require the possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy.
- Some positions in this classification may require the completion of a criminal history check in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules.
