What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at Washington County Juvenile Center?
The Administrative Assistant position, under the direction of the Senior Case Manager, assists with and performs carious administrative aspects of operation of the Washington County Juvenile Center.
Minimum 2-year degree with experience in office procedures and working with youth. Degree may be waived if applicant demonstrated sufficient training, skills, and experience in field. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Starting pay $16 - $18/ hour depending on experience
· Apply for and process all appropriate Medicaid paperwork for each youth throughout their stay.
· Coordinate private insurance and Medicaid coverage for youth.
· Process any private insurance paperwork as needed.
· Process billing of custodians for non-covered medical and other expenses.
· Immediately update the Senior Case Manager on results of youths’ appointments upon return from all medical, dental, optical, psychiatric and other appointments.
· Transport youth to their appointments or assign staff to transport as needed.
· Prepare weekly custody roster.
· Maintain database records for statistical purposed for the Court, Department of Youth Services, and other agencies.
· Gather and close youth files and record all statistical information.
· Keep employee files current per Department of youth Service’s regulations.
· Maintain monthly inventory of supplies and complete annual inventory for Court.
· Conduct monthly inventory of first aid kits and nonprescription medication.
· Assist Food Services Coordinator in completing and maintaining National School Lunch Association reports, forms, and compliance as needed.
· Cover Control Desk as needed.
· Read the daily log before coming on duty. Obtain prior medical, psychiatry, dental, and optical history of each youth and records as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Senior Case Manager.
