The Washington Counties Risk Pool (WCRP), founded in 1988, is an association "Created by Counties for Counties" to provide member counties with programs of joint self-insurance, joint purchasing of insurance, and joint contracting for personnel to manage risk, claims, and administrative services. WCRP’s mission is to offer comprehensive, economical risk coverage, reduce the frequency and severity of losses, and decrease costs associated with managing and litigating claims. Initially focused on joint self-insurance for third-party liabilities, WCRP has expanded its programs to include property and cyber risk coverage, as well as trainings and loss control services.
Role
The Washington Counties Risk Pool (WCRP) is seeking a qualified and motivated Senior Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team of risk management professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in risk analysis, loss prevention, or insurance-related fields who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
The Senior Risk Analyst plays a key role in developing and implementing risk management and loss prevention programs for WCRP and its member counties. Responsibilities include analyzing risk trends, identifying exposures, and providing strategic recommendations to reduce losses and improve outcomes. This position may also require handling complex claims, including litigated claims brought against member counties.

Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in risk management, loss control, safety, or claims—preferably in the public sector
- Strong knowledge of liability and insurance practices, including experience analyzing risk trends and developing prevention strategies
- Proven ability to manage complex and litigated claims, including interpreting coverage and working with legal and insurance partners
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience delivering training and working with diverse stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management or related field preferred; RMPE, ARM, or AIC certifications strongly recommended
