Job Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Floor Nurse during the night shift from 10 PM to 6 AM. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing, with experience in various healthcare settings including long-term care, assisted living, and acute care environments. As a vital member of our nursing staff, you will provide high-quality patient care while ensuring the safety and comfort of residents.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to residents, including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient assessments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.
- Perform IV infusions and manage catheter care as needed, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.
- Assist in triage situations, utilizing critical thinking skills to prioritize patient needs effectively.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
- Provide support for residents with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, and other memory-related conditions.
- Engage in acute pain management strategies and assist with discharge planning for residents transitioning from hospital to home or other care settings.
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages resident participation in their own care while promoting dignity and respect.
Qualifications
- Current LPN licensure with relevant experience in long-term care, assisted living, or acute care settings.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform essential nursing tasks including venipuncture, phlebotomy, medication administration, and physical examinations.
- Experience working with geriatric populations and those requiring specialized care such as hospice or dementia support.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
