Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a part-time capacity from 10 PM to 6 AM. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience in various medical settings, including long-term care and acute care environments. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing services, ensuring the well-being of our patients while adhering to established protocols and standards.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitoring vital signs and documenting changes in patient conditions.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Provide compassionate care to patients with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities and Alzheimer’s disease.
- Assist with medical procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, and wound care while maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, medication administration, and post-discharge care.
- Participate in emergency response situations, utilizing critical thinking skills to triage patients effectively.
Requirements
- Valid LPN license with relevant experience in nursing practice, particularly in long-term care or acute settings.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in areas such as critical care, geriatrics, hospice care, or emergency medicine.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation.
- Ability to perform essential nursing tasks including phlebotomy, medication administration, and patient assessment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care while adhering to ethical standards of practice.
