Proposed Ministry Responsibilities of an Associate Pastor Full-Time Position
Under the oversight of the Senior Pastor the Associate Pastor is . . .
· To work with the Church Leadership (Trustees & Deacons) in helping to shape the vision, ministries, and goals of Washington Baptist Church.
· To oversee and to give guidance to other full-time and part-time staff.
· To oversee a comprehensive Pastoral Care Ministry to the sick, hospitalized, shut-ins, widows &widowers, loss of loved ones, and families in crisis.
· To continually identify the changing needs in the congregation and community to make adjustments or developing new ministries to meet those needs.
· To develop and implement strategic plans for outreach into the community and for connecting with guest who visit our worship services and/or participate in other ministries and church events.
· To focus on building a 'Healthy Community' in the Church for unity, spiritual growth, encouragement, and sharing the gospel.
· To develop and implement a new members class with strategies to connect them to the church family.
· To develop strategies to recruit and equip volunteers (leaders & helpers) to effectively and confidently fulfill their ministries.
· To give guidance concerning counseling for individuals, pre-marital, marital, family care, grief care, and recovery care.
· To be prepared to fulfill preaching, teaching, and funeral responsibilities when the Senior Pastor is absent or specifically directed by him.

· Spiritual Gift of Leadership (Organizer)
· Denomination: Southern Baptist
· Undergraduate or graduate degree in biblical studies - Preferably 3 years of experience in pastoral ministry
Financial Package: To be competitive with area churches of similar size and in relation to their educational level and previous years of experience.
