Job Title: Medical Records and Demand Specialist
Location: Washington Auto Law
Reports To: Firm Administrator
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Position Summary
The Medical Records and Demand Specialist is responsible for managing the collection, organization, and review of medical records and billing, as well as drafting and submitting settlement demands. This role requires strong attention to detail, proactive communication, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The Specialist works closely with clients, medical providers, and internal team members to ensure cases progress efficiently from medical records to demand submission.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Request all medical records and billing from providers.
- Follow up consistently with medical providers to ensure timely receipt of records and billing.
- Communicate with providers to resolve any discrepancies in billing.
- Create and process expenses related to obtaining medical records and billing.
- Review, upload, and properly organize all medical records and billing documents.
- Clean, separate, and maintain well-organized medical records within the case management system.
- Prepare comprehensive and compelling demand letters on behalf of the clients who have been injured in accidents. This includes summarizing the facts, outlining injuries, medical treatment, associated costs, and providing a clear demand for compensation
Required Skills/Abilities
- Fluent in English and Spanish- Required.
- Strong Communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with case management systems (e.g., Filevine preferred).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience working in a Personal Injury Law Firm.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with medical records in a legal setting.
- Experience handling large volume of cases in a legal or healthcare setting.
