Job Title: Strong Readers Act Reading Partner (Temporary Position)
Position Goal: To provide intensive remediation in reading to students on a Strong Readers Intervention Plan.
Qualifications:
- Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate (Preferred certification in Early Childhood, Elementary, or Reading Specialist)
- Understanding of the Science of Reading and structured literacy approaches
- Experience working with diverse learners and implementing differentiated instruction.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small-group tutoring using evidence-based reading interventions to students in grades K-3 who demonstrate below-grade-level reading skills.
- Assess student reading levels and progress using approved literacy screening tools, as needed.
- Deliver evidence-based instruction aligned with the Science of Reading.
- Collaborate with the district Title I Coordinator, principals, teachers, and other designated staff to align interventions based on student needs.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
- Attend trainings and/or meetings as requested by the district.
Duration:
This is a temporary, targeted position. The exact duration will be determined based on student need and funding availability.
