Job Title: Interim Federal Programs and Mental Health Coordinator
Supervisor: District Administration
Employment Status: 11 or 12-month employee, negotiable
Overtime Status: Exempt
General Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the Interim Federal Programs and Mental Health Coordinator are to assist District Administration with ensuring compliance with federal programs, helping prepare reports, and managing budgets, as well as to act as a liaison, consultant, organizer, and key team member among the district, schools, and the community in integrating services, procedures, and protocols to support students with mental health needs and their families. This district-based position helps coordinate federal programs and mental health services.
Qualifications (to include but not limited to):
- A Master’s degree in administration, counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
- Experience working with federal programs.
- Strong budgeting skills.
- Strong organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication skills, including computer experience and basic computer fluency.
- Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in working with agencies that provide therapeutic interventions to children and families.
- Experience in working with school personnel and/or in school settings.
- Experience with creating and positively supporting/maintaining systems change.
- An ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
- Strong interpersonal skills in working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):
- Coordinate and complete district federal reports/applications and ensure submission in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the development of budgets for Federal Programs.
- Coordinate the monitoring and amending of budgets for Federal Programs.
- Monitor budget allocations, expenditures, and financial activities to ensure fiscal practices are followed.
- Prepare and/or review, as needed, purchase order requests for federal program expenditures to ensure they are allowable.
- Coordinate the ordering, inventorying, and distribution of supplies, materials, and equipment associated with federal programs.
- Assist with filing federal program claims.
- Support district administrators and building administrators with federal compliance technical assistance regarding requirements.
- Gather, analyze, and report on data associated with federal programs as needed.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences to convey and/or gather information required to perform functions.
- Monitor and support the communication and utilization of wraparound services for students with mental health challenges or students in mental health crises.
- Provide technical support to schools and communities on mental health services, interventions, referrals, programming, and concerns.
- Support students, families, and schools by coordinating with counseling agencies, caseworkers, probation officers, and community and support services.
- Work with other agencies to share information and coordinate services.
- Coordinate, support, and oversee district mental health programs.
- Coordinate prevention activities with district and community teams focused on engaging and empowering students and families.
- Coordinate collaborative mental health awareness activities with community partners and schools.
- Assist the district and schools in identifying gaps in mental health services.
- Gather the necessary data and report to ensure an accurate, outcome-based program evaluation.
- Collaborate with district administrators, psychologists, and principals to support staff and schools.
- Report information to the school board and/or district administrators periodically.
- When necessary, work with students and families on related services and/or issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
