EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Contract begins July 01, 2026 or on a mutually agreeable time and continues full time through the term of the contract. Twelve Month Position/Negotiable
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: MA/MS degree in School Administration or MA/MS degree in Education leadership required; valid Oklahoma teaching and current administrative certificate required. Bachelors Degree Required
Experience: Minimum of eight full-time years of administrative leadership experience in either a district leadership and/or building principal leadership role and/or state department of education leadership required. Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience preferred. Knowledge of state and federal accountability standards required.
Skills: Computer technology and software; excellent written and oral communication ability; strong knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, and laws applicable to education; expertise in the Oklahoma State Department of Education’s
policies and procedures.
SUMMARY: Sapulpa Public Schools seeks a passionate, energetic team player to work with our staff and students as the Interim Director of Secondary Education. The position provides leadership for the curriculum, instruction program of the district, grades 6-12. The Interim Director shall facilitate programs, activities, and systems that support the educational process of students and staff grades 6-12. This position also leads student assessment activities and ensures district practices remain in compliance with board, state, and federal policies. Analyzes assessment data for national, state, and district assessment programs and prepares data for release to the public. Maintains and generates state accountability reports, Professional Learning Communities, TLE management, EL management/oversight.

Supervises the development of goals, preparation of short and long-range plans, and the implementation of programs and services for assessment, staff evaluations, and professional learning communities. This will be accomplished through scheduled reviews with district and school leadership teams.
- Works with principals and teachers on an on-going basis to analyze student performance and other data to determine student needs in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Initiates studies, research, and planning projects to improve school effectiveness.
- Works with principals and teachers to design engaging work for students.
- Works with principals and teachers to ensure curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices and programs are aligned horizontally and vertically to elimnate repetition and redundancy.
- Works with principals and teachers to ensure understanding of the depth and complexity of the state curriculum.
- Coordinates the review, development and revision of all subject area programs and related curriculum documents, and materials, including curriculum guides, course outlines and teaching plans.
- Evaluates the secondary curriculum and instruction program effectiveness based on evaluative findings (including student achievement data) and recommend changes as needed.

Oversees federal and state accountability requirements related to ESSA, and local accountability requirements, and administration of assessments as required by state and federal law.
- Analyzes assessment data for national, state, and district assessment programs and prepares that data for release to the public.
- Coordinates program evaluation services for the school system; provides leadership in planning, developing, administering, interpreting, and reporting the district's evaluation programs and procedures for all employees.
- Conducts statistical analysis of academic initiatives with a focus on improving student achievement; analyzes student data, coaches, principals, and teachers on the use of data to make informed decisions.
- Will work with the data stewards and owners within schools and departments, as well as the information technology staff, to ensure data is collected, stored, shared, and reported in a manner consistent with State and Federal requirements.

Provide professional development to teachers and staff on using the data from benchmark/formative assessments to inform instruction.
- Support the district leadership team to develop measures and evaluate professional learning communities impact.
- Supports or helps lead major TLE projects, with a special focus on analytics and project management that will support professional and leadership development.
- Supports in close collaboration with district level and site level managers to ensure the full implementation of the teacher and leaders' multiple measure evaluation system.
- Analyze multiple metrics of teacher and leader evaluation data and design or manage the collection of evaluation data.

Confer with all stakeholders in the implementation and the efforts at the school level that are being made to plan for local, state, and federal testing.

Assist with the improvement of student achievement by implementing the Tulsa Model for teacher observation and evaluation with high levels of fidelity.

Works with Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director for Teaching and Learning for developing secondary program budgets and providing expenditure controls on budgets.

Responsible for resolving parent/guardian complaints in an efficient and effective manner.

Serve as a member of the District’s Administrative team and attend required meetings when expected.

Maintain positive working relationships with community agencies.

Communicate frequently and directly with the District Administrative team regarding potential problems or issues which require immediate attention in a proactive manner.

Attend School Board meetings frequently.

Assist with all Alternative Education program reports and OSDE Alternative Education requirements.
- Provide support and assistance with the district's EL program and make recommendations to district staff as necessary.
- Provide support and assitance with the secondary professional development requirements for staff.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises, oversees, and manages assigned district programs and staff associated with it. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
