Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant Bookkeeping professional to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will support the accurate recording and reconciliation of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Duties
- Manage daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry of invoices, payments, and receipts using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, or similar systems.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and company records.
- Prepare journal entries for various financial transactions, maintaining accurate general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of payments and collections.
- Support payroll processing activities, including data entry and verifying payroll records for accuracy.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors needing correction.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, supporting month-end closing activities, and maintaining detailed documentation for audit readiness.
- Contribute to governmental and non-profit accounting functions when applicable, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Support account reconciliation efforts, including general ledger reconciliation and account analysis to uphold financial integrity.
- Participate in budgeting processes by providing relevant data and supporting documentation as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or junior accounting roles with familiarity in accounting systems such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online) or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
- Knowledge of financial concepts including balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliation.
- Experience working with GAAP standards; familiarity with governmental or non-profit accounting is a plus.
- Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Excel (including 10-key typing) for data entry and analysis.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis, prepare accurate financial reports, and support budgeting activities.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; strong communication skills are essential for collaborating across teams.
- Prior bookkeeper experience is preferred; relevant certifications or coursework in accounting are advantageous but not mandatory.
After a 90 day probation, work from home opportunity may be available depending on proficiency of work. Additional hours available during Peak Tax Season January through April 15th.
