Job Summary
Wasco Union High School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Worker. This is a full-time position working eight hours per day, twelve months per year, five days per week. Overtime hours may be required as part of the job duties. Exceptional Benefits Package: The District provides full health, dental, vision, prescription, and life insurance coverage for both the employee and family with no employee contribution. The salary range is $3,655.80-$4,614.32 per month.
Requirements / Qualifications
Under supervision of the Director of Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation, and the Lead Grounds Worker perform routine grounds maintenance and gardening work, including the installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems, and to do related work as required. Safely use the hand and power tools of gardening and grounds keeping work. Perform heavy physical labor.
Essential Functions • Methods, techniques, supplies, materials, and equipment utilized in grounds maintenance, • landscaping, and beautification functions • Maintaining school buildings and grounds in a safe, clean, and orderly condition • Procedures, practices, and techniques required for the maintenance and repair of a variety of grounds operation equipment • Sprinkling and irrigation systems, landscape design, common trees, shrubs, and plants, and the symptoms of plant disease • Common fertilizers, insecticides, and herbicides • Safe working methods and procedures • Safe driving practices • Operate other district equipment and vehicles are required • Drive school bus as substitute and/or in emergencies • Perform other related duties as required • Understand and carry out oral and written directions • Meet the public tactfully and courteously in situations requiring diplomacy, friendliness and firmness • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, counselors, co-workers and the general public
