Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Geotechnical Engineer based in Salt Lake City, UT. The Geotechnical Engineer will oversee and perform site investigations, analyze soil composition and properties, contribute to the design and evaluation of foundations, and provide support in geotechnical engineering and engineering geology. Responsibilities include preparing reports, conducting studies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the success of various engineering projects. Applicant will be expected to conduct work in the field within drastic climates such as high mountain ranges or remote locations such as Alaska or Hawaii. Travel is required with this position.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Site Investigation and knowledge of soil behavior
- Expertise in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology
- Experience in designing foundations and geostructural elements
- Micropile Designs
- Tie Back Anchor Designs
- Rockfall Mitigation
- UDOT & DOT Plan Sets
- Proficient in CAD programs such as Microstation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Mining Engineering
- EIT or PE are a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical reports and presentations
- Experience using geotechnical analysis software is advantageous
