The Warwick Community School and Warwick School District is Massachusetts’s newest public school district. Nestled into the scenic woodlands, along the border of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont (map), our beautiful and innovative elementary school opened in the fall of 2023. The school sits on a 25-acre outdoor campus that features a vernal pool and cranberry bog. Mother foxes can be seen raising their cubs right outside the classroom windows. We have many school gardens and plan to build more to support both our curriculum and our lunch program.
Part Time School Nurse/ LPN Nurse
WCS is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a part time school nurse/ LPN to work school hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
Performs all state mandated screening programs.
Identifies specific medical needs relating to the particular health status of the student and facilitates appropriate management for the student in the school setting.
Facilitates student immunization compliance per DPH regulations.
Triages students and/or staff with injury or illness and provides appropriate intervention and follow-up and writes injury reports.
Administers medication in compliance with school policy and state regulations.
Develops and maintains, when appropriate, an individualized health care plan for each student with documented health needs and/or provides input for 504s and IEPs.
Acts as a nurse educator for students, parents, and staff regarding health issues.
Maintains computerized medical records for each student enrolled in the district.
Maintains updated information in each student’s computer record, including immunizations and screenings.
Prepares and submits all reports mandated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Maintains adequate health room supplies.
Provides interpretation of health assessments and medical data for special education evaluations.
Performs all scheduled duties and responsibilities within expected time frames.

Strong positive, interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, administration and families.
Maintains contemporary knowledge base to provide care to students and staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Skills/Experience/Education):
Current and valid State of Massachusetts nursing license (RN).
Current and valid MA DESE School Nurse license, or qualifications allowing for licensure.
LPN or Bachelor’s degree in nursing..
Experience in school, pediatric, public health, or other relevant nursing experience
