Multilingual Learner (MLL) Coordinator / Program Administrator
The MLL Administrator and Coach will coordinate the day-to-day operations of Warwick’s MLL Program. The MLL Administrator and Coach will provide on-site coaching and professional development for classroom teachers with English Learners in their classroom, focusing on academic language and literacy, language, progressions, scaffolds, supports, and demands to K-12 teachers across the District.
The Administrator and Coach will serve as a point of contact for the district for all issues related to Multilingual Learners in Warwick. The job responsibilities include the following:
- Act as Warwick’s point of contact for RIDE, responsible for disseminating information.
- Ensure the district acts in compliance with applicable federal and state laws and policies.
- Ensure the proper identification of English Learners in Warwick.
- Provide coaching and professional development to classroom teachers with MLL students
- Provide support and professional development to the MLL teachers
- Report MLLs in the MLL Census.
- Ensure the proper instructional placement of MLLs in Warwick.
- Ensure that the English language assistance program in Warwick adheres to best practices.
- Coordinate the annual language proficiency testing (ACCESS for MLLs 2.0) for MLLs in Warwick.
- Ensure a process for exiting students when they meet the state-defined, required exit criteria.
- Ensure that parents are provided with information as required by federal and state regulations.
The MLL Administrator and Coach will provide support to and collaborate with the district’s Curriculum Director by helping with the following items, among others:
- Coordinate the Title III grant application and district Title III Activities.
- Coordinate the professional development for MLL and general education teachers in Warwick.
- Analyze data concerning the MLLs in Warwick and develop action plans to address areas of concern.
Requirements:
- The MLL Administrator and Coach should have at least three years’ experience, preferably five years, in teaching MLL students and a Master’s degree in ESL.
- The MLL Administrator and Coach must be certified as a building/district level and hold a teaching certification in either ESOL, Bilingual and Dual Language, or MLL Integrated Content.
- Experience coordinating an MLL program is preferred.
Salary: $110,000
