Job Overview
The Lease Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of oil and gas production sites within their assigned area. This role includes daily inspections, maintenance, and reporting to ensure optimal production and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Daily Operations and Monitoring:
- Perform daily checks of oil and gas wells, tanks, separators, and other production equipment.
- Monitor and record production data, including pressures, volumes, and fluid levels.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues to ensure optimal production.
- Maintenance and Repairs:
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, such as pumps, valves, and compressors.
- Work with field teams and vendors to schedule and oversee significant repairs and maintenance.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all operations comply with safety protocols, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Report spills, leaks, or other incidents immediately and assist in cleanup and reporting efforts.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment maintenance, and site inspections.
- Submit daily reports detailing production metrics and any operational concerns.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and other team members to address production challenges and maintenance needs.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in oil and gas field operations or a related role.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Proficiency in using production monitoring systems and basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office, Insights).
- Knowledge of oilfield safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in various weather conditions, and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Work Environment
This position requires working outdoors in potentially harsh conditions, including extreme temperatures and remote locations. The role may include on-call responsibilities and occasional overtime to meet operational demands.
