Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Dance Teacher to begin September 2026 (with the ability to train this Summer) to inspire young children through movement, music, and creative expression. The ideal candidate will have a background in early childhood education, dance, and classroom management, with a strong ability to develop engaging curriculum tailored for preschoolers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster a love of dance and learning in a nurturing environment, helping children develop their physical, emotional, and social skills through structured dance activities and creative play in both tap and ballet.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate dance lessons that incorporate elements of ballet, tap, and creative movement to engage preschool children.
- Develop curriculum that promotes childhood development, motor skills, coordination, and self-expression.
- Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Utilize classroom management techniques to encourage good behavior and participation among young students.
- Incorporate educational themes into dance activities that support early childhood education standards.
- Engage with children through storytelling, singing, photography projects, and other creative methods to enhance their learning experience.
- Collaborate with parents and staff to monitor each child's progress and address individual needs.
- Maintain organized lesson plans and classroom materials, including sewing or costume elements when applicable.
- Foster a love for dance while supporting social-emotional development through nurturing interactions.
Skills
- Experience with early childhood education and preschool classroom experience.
- Strong background in dance styles such as ballet, tap, gymnastics or creative movement.
- Ability to develop engaging curriculum tailored for young children’s developmental stages.
- Excellent classroom management skills to maintain discipline and foster positive behavior management.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to choreograph a recital routine for 3-4 year old children.
- Requirment to full fill the job position through June 2027.
- Must be available on Saturday mornings.
Pay: $22.10 - $30.00 per hour
