Title of Position – Assistant Professor of Education

SALARY: Competitive for entry-level appointment at similar institutions CONTRACT: COMPLETED BY DEAN’S OFFICE
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Earned degree in Education. Doctorate in Education (or related field) or ABD; three years of successful 5-12 teaching experience; demonstrated understanding of student-centered learning, teacher preparation, and excellence in teaching; commitment to inclusive communities. Ability to teach in the education professional core and facilitate student work in diverse settings.
PREFERRED:
Successful and innovative college-level teaching experience, knowledge of and experience with teacher education accreditation standards and processes; desire to teach in the College’s interdisciplinary general education program; experience with student teaching supervision; and successful experience working with diverse populations and diverse settings.
Successful candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusive community in a multicultural educational and work environment and must be willing to support the College’s mission and contribute to the strategic plan.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will fulfill the duties of tenure track faculty to include:
Teach courses in the Teacher Education core
Advise students and supervise student teachers
Contribute to student recruitment activities
Contribute to Teacher Education Program responsibilities
