Job Purpose: The Senior Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all production operations, including mixing, packaging, and material handling activities across all areas. This position provides leadership, guidance, and coordination across departments to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The Senior Production Supervisor maintains steady workflow, consistent communication, and resource alignment. Position Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership and oversight for all production departments, including liquid and powder mixing, packaging, and forklift/material handling operations.
· Coordinate with department Supervisors and Coordinators to align schedules, priorities, and staffing across production areas.
· Ensure daily production goals are met safely and efficiently by maintaining balanced workflow between mixing, packaging, and material movement.
· Supervise and mentor Coordinator, and team members to support performance, accountability, and development.
· Monitor departmental performance through Supervisor reports, shift summaries, and daily production updates.
· Support problem-solving and remove obstacles that impact safety, quality, or productivity.
· Partner with Maintenance and Quality Control teams to resolve equipment or process issues that disrupt operations.
· Oversee compliance with all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards throughout the production floor.
· Lead or participate in investigations related to safety, quality, or performance incidents; ensure corrective actions are documented and implemented.
· Collaborate with Material Handling and Inventory teams to monitor raw material and packaging inventory levels, usage accuracy, and replenishment needs.
· Ensure that inventory transactions are completed accurately by production staff and that discrepancies are identified and communicated promptly.
· Verify that empty containers, drums, or totes are removed or replaced in coordination with Material Handlers and department Leads.
· Support team to maintain accountability for material usage, batch tracking, and documentation accuracy.
· Support 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives across all production areas.
· Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, performance, and training for direct reports.
· Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new employees; provide feedback on promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.
· Communicate department goals, performance updates, and company priorities effectively across all shifts and teams.
· Collaborate with Managers on strategic initiatives, capacity planning, and long-term improvement projects.
· Foster a positive and accountable culture that prioritizes teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
· Perform other related duties as assigned to support safe and efficient plant operations.
Required Skills and Abilities:
· Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple departments and teams simultaneously.
· Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, including liquid/powder mixing, packaging, and material handling.
· Basic understanding of inventory flow and material control practices to support production accuracy.
· Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments and shifts.
· Ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees for long-term growth.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on operational efficiency.
· Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods.
· Ability to interpret production reports and respond proactively to issues and trends.
· Skilled in enforcing company policies and maintaining a people-first, safety-focused environment.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in operations, business, or a related field preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or production experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or multi-department leadership role.
· Experience managing mixing, packaging, and material handling operations required.
· Familiarity with Lean or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Regular standing and walking throughout production and warehouse areas.
· Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to tolerate a manufacturing environment with noise, temperature changes, and chemical exposure.
· Manual dexterity to handle documentation and occasionally assist with production or material movement.
