Business Teacher

Reports to: Building Principal

General Summary:

We are seeking a qualified candidate to teach in the Business, Marketing, and Information Technology Department at the Warsaw Area Career Center. Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates comprehensive content knowledge of business classes, ensuring up-to-date and relevant instruction that aligns with current industry standards and educational best practices.
• Maintains clear and up-to-date written lesson plans. Able to show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
• Committed to being an active participant in the Career Center Business Advisory boards for school improvement.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the student's interests.
• Develops classroom behavior and procedure rules, ensuring they are equitable and consistent while assisting the administration in enforcing policies governing overall student life and conduct.
• Increases continued student learning by collecting appropriate data from formative and summative assessments.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques facilitating the use of technology and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
• Supports and implements strategies that enhance student performance on certification assessments.
• Makes effective use of planning time and observes designed working hours per the job assignment while participating cooperatively with the principal in performance evaluations as stated in the district’s policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned at the request of the principal.
• Maintains confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5,000 hours in the Business Industry or an equivalent Business Indiana Teacher’s License. 
• Demonstrated interest, commitment, and ability to teach students of varied skill levels and interests.
• Exceptional organizational and management skills.
• Proven ability to manage a classroom.

Length of Contract: 185 days

Position Type: Exempt
