Job Summary:
The Diesel Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks, including roll-off and garbage trucks. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of hands-on experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and other mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Fabricate and repair hydraulic hoses and systems as needed.
- Service and maintain roll-off trucks, garbage trucks, and other specialized vehicles.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and comply with all safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members and provide technical support as required.
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience as a diesel technician , preferably with heavy-duty trucks.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy-duty truck components.
- Experience building and repairing hydraulic hoses is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with roll-off trucks, garbage trucks, or similar heavy-duty vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
