Role Description The Owner Operator role at Warrior Transportation and Logistics Solutions is a full-time, on-site position based in Bryan, TX. Owner operators are responsible for safely operating and maintaining their own equipment, hauling freight according to scheduled routes, and ensuring on-time pickups and deliveries. Daily tasks include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complying with DOT and company safety standards, managing logs and documentation, and communicating clearly with dispatch and customers. The role also involves basic equipment upkeep, monitoring load security, and proactively addressing any issues that may affect delivery timelines. Owner operators are expected to represent WTLS professionally on the road and at customer locations while supporting a culture of safety, accountability, and excellent service.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL (appropriate class for assigned equipment), clean driving record, and demonstrated experience as a professional commercial driver.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safe driving practices for regional and long-haul operations.
- Ownership or long-term control of well-maintained, compliant equipment suitable for assigned freight, including ability to perform basic maintenance checks.
- Proficiency in trip planning, route optimization, and time management to ensure on-time deliveries and efficient fuel use.
- Ability to maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and load documentation using electronic or paper systems as required.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, customers, and team members in a professional and respectful manner.
- High level of reliability, integrity, and safety awareness, with a commitment to representing the company positively at all times.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including climbing in and out of trucks, securing loads, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Previous experience as an owner operator or independent contractor in trucking is strongly preferred.
