Duties
- Lead dynamic and well-structured yoga classes tailored to diverse skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.
- Design comprehensive yoga programs that incorporate principles of physiology, anatomy, body mechanics, and breathing techniques to enhance flexibility, strength, and mental clarity.
- Incorporate complementary fitness disciplines such as Pilates, dancing, or CrossFit elements to diversify class offerings and keep participants motivated.
- Educate clients on proper alignment, posture, and movement to prevent injuries and maximize benefits.
- Motivate participants through energetic coaching, fostering a welcoming atmosphere that encourages progress and confidence.
- Assess individual needs and modify routines accordingly to ensure safety and effectiveness for all attendees.
- Promote wellness by integrating knowledge of sports coaching, cycling, gym exercises, and group fitness strategies into class plans.
- Support health club operations by assisting with fitness sales efforts and providing exceptional customer service.
- Stay current with industry trends in yoga, personal training, fitness sales, and health club practices to continually improve class quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the studio or gym environment at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching yoga classes with a strong understanding of physiology, anatomy knowledge, and body mechanics.
- Certification in Yoga instruction from an accredited organization; additional certifications in Pilates, CrossFit, personal training or sports coaching are a plus.
- Familiarity with group fitness programming and gym operations within a health club setting.
- Knowledge of fitness sales techniques to promote memberships or classes effectively.
- Ability to demonstrate skills in related disciplines such as dancing or cycling is advantageous for class variety.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups of participants.
- Strong organizational skills for program design and class planning.
- Passion for promoting health and wellness through engaging instruction and positive encouragement.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules including evenings or weekends as needed.
