The Entry-Level Safety Coordinator assists with maintaining a safe work environment for employees, subcontractors, and visitors. This position is ideal for someone with little to no safety experience who is interested in learning workplace safety practices and regulations. The Safety Coordinator works closely with supervisors and management to help ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and site-specific safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily safety inspections and jobsite observations.
- Help identify and report workplace hazards.
- Support the implementation of company safety programs and policies.
- Maintain safety records, training documentation, and inspection reports.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee orientations.
- Assist with incident and near-miss reporting and investigations.
- Ensure employees are using proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor work areas for compliance with safety requirements.
- Communicate safety concerns to supervisors and management.
- Perform other administrative and safety-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some safety experience required; training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, and recordkeeping).
- Ability to walk jobsites and work in outdoor conditions when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in construction, industrial, or occupational safety.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (not required but preferred).
- Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, or general labor is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs or ladders as needed.
- Ability to wear required PPE.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Position Summary
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in workplace safety while developing the knowledge and skills needed to advance into a Safety Coordinator, Safety Specialist, or Safety Manager position. Training and mentorship will be provided to support professional growth and success.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
