Prepping, planting, and harvesting a variety of crops, maintain and make improvements to the orchard, operate and maintain farm equipment, take care of the daily needs of livestock
General farm equipment maintenance, work the pasture for cattle and goats, repair mobile
chicken coop, maintain honeybee apiary, and tend to livestock. In this position, we expect you to take on a variety of responsibilities around the farm, from plowing, planting, and harvesting to maintaining the fruit orchard. In addition to actual crop duties, you are also responsible for helping with maintaining apiary, taking care of livestock, and farm projects, i.e., building mobile chicken coop, repairing fences, and updating irrigation system operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (weather on or off the farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach the farm fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license, no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a drivers license
Crew Leader – Reports directly to the supervisor and assists with directing and monitoring the work of seasonal helpers during harvesting and planting. Crew
leaders assist the supervisor with pre-harvest monitoring activities and record reporting data for supervisor, including crop yields, productivity, and arrival/departure times of crew members. Crew leaders work under the direct supervision of the Supervisor and communicate instructions to crews on behalf of supervisors. Supervisor is responsible for all managerial decisions. Workers who possess a valid driver’s license and meet all applicable legal requirements, including holding a doctor’s certificate as required by 29 CFR §
500.105, may be asked to drive vehicles for transporting workers, goods, or commodities on company business. This task is voluntary, compensable, and not a mandatory job duty. Workers without a valid driver’s license or doctor’s certificate will still be fully eligible for employment and are not disqualified from any other job responsibilities outlined in this application. The employer can and will make alternative arrangements for the transportation of workers should the need arise.
