Structural Steel & Mechanical Drafters

Structural steel and material handling fabricator in Hutchinson, Minnesota, seeks qualified Structural Steel & Mechanical Drafters to become a part of its team! The ideal candidate will have either an A. S. or B. S. degree.

• Structural: Generate detailed 3D models and shop fabrication drawings of steel support towers, trusses, and related equipment for customer review and approval.
• Mechanical: Generate detailed 3D models and shop fabrication drawings of material handling equipment, such as drag conveyors, bucket elevators and belt conveyors.

Responsibilities

• Calculate dimensions and tolerance.
• Provide daily/timely updates for model and drawing completion and prioritize workload.
• Coordinate with other colleagues in the design group regarding complex design details and models.
• Review and modify designs with project manager to minimize fabrication time.

Qualifications

• Minimum: A.S. Degree
• 1 year or more experience preferred
• • Structural: Experience in modeling and detailing (preferably in the structural steel field)
  • Mechanical: Experience in mechanical design (preferably in a machine design setting)

• Design drawing interpretation
• Preference given to applicants with knowledge of:
• • 3-D software (SolidWorks)
  • Auto-CAD
  • EPDM
  • OSHA and IBC Codes
  • AWS Welding symbols
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Deadline and detail-oriented

Wages

• $22.00 to $28.00 per hour.
