What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hockey Camp Counselor position at Warrior Ice Arena?
Warrior Ice Arena offers full day youth camps! We are looking for enthusiastic and attentive camp counselors to lead, support, and motivate campers as they enjoy all that the camp has to offer. Our camp counselors will help lead day-to-day group activities. Our goal is to provide our campers with a unique, fun, and safe experience! The camps will take place at Warrior Ice Arena, the TRACK at new balance, and other locations here on the Boston Landing campus!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading and supporting campers as they participate in off-ice activities
- Monitoring campers at all times, and ensuring camper safety
- Cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of Warrior Ice Arena and the TRACK at new balance facilities and
equipment
- Transport campers between facilities on a daily basis in a timely and safe manner
- Reporting and recording details of incidents
REQUIREMENTS:
- 16 years or older - Upbeat, engaging personality
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- High level of responsibility and accountability
- First aid, CPR, and additional training may be required or beneficial
- Physical ability to participate in activities such as skating, running, lifting, etc.
- Ability to pass a background check, a physical, and provide proof of immunizations
- Experience working in camps, with children, or with specific activities preferred, but not required
- Well versed in emergency procedures and enforcing camp policies -Participating in team meetings
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Part-Time up to 40 hours (during camp weeks, including vacation weeks)
- Compensation: $17 per hour
- Schedule may vary from 4 - 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday.
- Camp is Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm, with closing shifts going until 4:30pm and the potential for aftercare shifts going until 5:00pm
- Ability to commute to Brighton, MA 02135 (Required)
- If unable to commute from current home, ability to relocate (Required) - Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
