They may also assist with equipment operation and maintenance, including basic repairs and lubrication.
Essential Functions And Duties Of Position
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
- Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
- Remove excess materials, debris, and aggregate from around the crusher machinery and plant area.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks like greasing, oiling, and lubricating equipment, as well as basic repairs.
- Operate smaller equipment like skid steers and loaders, as well as assisting with larger equipment operation under supervision.
- Move materials to and from the crusher, potentially including operating haul trucks.
- Assist with the assembly and disassembly of crusher machinery when relocating the plant.
- Perform various other manual tasks as needed, such as loading and unloading materials, or assisting with other plant operations.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Previous related experience in the construction field is a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License is preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
- Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
- Knowledge of general maintenance skills and tools.
- Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day.
- Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 85 pounds personally and up to 140 pounds with assistance.
- Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment. Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
- The Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.
- Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
- Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, sharp metal objects, asphalt, and ready mixed concrete.
