What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Applications Analyst position at Warren General Hospital?
SUMMARY: Plans, implements, tests and documents new, enhanced or existing health information systems and related education strategies to meet the needs of system users, hospital administration and all state and federal regulations associated with hospital systems and hospital-owned outpatient clinics.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
1. Collaborates, consults with, and partners with HIS staff and leadership in the design, implementation, management and education of new, enhanced, or existing clinical systems to improve efficiency/workflow and patient safety while maintaining organization standards.
2. Prepares and maintains documentation and procedures of systems to ensure intended use and continuity of program maintenance.
3. Develops test plans for applications; assists users in executing test plans to ensure proper and error-free execution of application software.
4. Analyzes new systems and enhancements and/or corrections to existing systems and provides recommendations of feasibility of implementation to meet HIS and organization objectives.
5. Follows organizational and departmental practices for incident, change and requests management.
6. Assists with support of e-Prescribing application for regular and controlled substances.
7. Assists with support of speech recognition solution.
8. Provides EHR orientation to new providers during the onboarding process.
9. Utilizes issue tracking software to document contact with customers and resolutions of issues.
10. Interact with co-workers, patients, guests and physicians in a courteous, respectful and friendly manner.
11. Participates in the department on-call rotation.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPECTATIONS:
· Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree, and one year experience, or Associates degree and five years’ experience is required.
· Five (5) years of Electronic Health Record experience implementing and supporting health care clinical systems.
· Must possess knowledge of new trends in healthcare information systems and be able to apply the knowledge to the service areas in the healthcare setting
· Must be competent in the design and implementation of MEDITECH applications to clinical and business practice and analysis and evaluation of information requirements.
· Must be knowledgeable of current information technology security and confidentiality, and state requirements.
· Must possess the ability to be self-directed with excellent organizational, analytical writing, and interpersonal skills, and ability to work through issues in a professional manner.
· Proven oral and written communication skills are required as well as the ability to work hard, handle pressure and be a good team player.
