What You'll Do
- Collect/Sort daily fluid sample shipments.
- Prepare solutions, reagents & standards according to standard lab formulas.
- Analyze oil, coolant & fuel samples as directed.
- Enter sample results from each instrument into appropriate software.
- Maintain/Organize lab records.
- Monitor supply inventory levels.
- Maintain assigned laboratory instruments daily.
- Assist on the disposal of fluids and or supplies upon test completion.
- Research Caterpillar technical information through SIS and other resources.
- Assist in the mailing and distribution of sample report results.
- Complete required safety and technical training required to perform this role.
- Serve as a back up to other lab positions and cross-train.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); less than one year of related lab experience and/or training preferred; or one to two years of heavy equipment experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar field.
- Entry-level understanding of instruments used for testing.
- Proficient communication and analyzation skills.
- Basic computer experience and be competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees.
