POSITION OPENING

Job Title: Juvenile Probation Officer

Status: Full-time with benefits (40 hours per week) Union

Starting Salary: $17.73/hour

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 18 credit hours in

behavioral sciences. Must possess a valid driver’s license

Requirements and Responsibilities:

Excellent evaluative, writing, communication, and counseling skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with youth, families, and outside agencies to aid in rehabilitation.

Must be able to work under pressure to meet short deadlines.

Must be able to work independently, be creative, and interact well with multiple systems.

Must be agreeable to evening work on a regular basis.

Must be able to work with challenging or non-compliant clients

All Officers must attend New Officer Orientation Training and Basic Firearms Training

Must perform case management and supervision, which includes using risk reductions,

accountability measures, screening/assessment tools, case planning, and motivational

interviewing.
