Job Summary
The Court Officer position is a Tennessee POST Certified position. This job includes providing security for the Warren County Courthouse, courthouse employees, and the public. You may also complete arrests, serve civil and criminal warrants, as well serve as a patrol deputy when needed.
Duties
- Transport inmates from the Warren County Jail to the Warren County Courthouse.
- Monitor inmate actives while in your custody.
- Monitor CCTV systems to observe inmate behavior and identify potential security threats.
- Respond to emergencies, including medical situations, utilizing CPR and first aid skills as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records through report writing, and documenting incidents.
- Enforce laws and safety regulations.
- Provide security for the public and court employees.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and maintain certifications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid) are preferred.
- TN POST Certification.
- At least 8 years of law enforcement experience.
- Strong conflict management abilities with a focus on de-escalation techniques.
- Proficient report writing skills for documenting incidents clearly and accurately.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism in challenging situations.
- Must pass background checks and any required pre-employment assessments (This includes a physical examination, mental evaluation, and drug test.)
- Must be able to qualify and use all assigned weapons.
