Strength and Conditioning Coach
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or related field
Current relevant professional certification credentialed by an independent accreditation agency, such as NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification
Strong working knowledge and teaching skills in strength training techniques and athletic conditioning
Experience and/or expertise in strength and conditioning programming for high school populations

Athletic Director
JOB GOALS
To establish and maintain a comprehensive strength and conditioning program that improves athletic performance, reduces athletic injuries, and promotes lifelong fitness and movement skills for student-athletes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Design and implement strength training and conditioning programs for all school-sanctioned athletic programs during in-season, off-season, and pre-season periods
Work cooperatively with sports medicine and athletic training staff in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes
Facilitate collaboration among sport coaches, sports medicine staff, and strength and conditioning personnel
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program in accordance with professional standards and guidelines
Develop systems for tracking athlete attendance and progress in coordination with sport coaches
Conduct annual needs assessments for each athletic program in conjunction with coaches and athletic trainers
Conduct and review an annual departmental risk management plan
Prepare annual budgetary proposals for equipment maintenance, purchases, and staffing needs
Determine and reinforce expectations for athlete conduct aligned with the school's Student Code of Conduct
Design and instruct strength and conditioning classes as needed
Coordinate introductory strength and conditioning opportunities for middle school students
Supervise and coordinate student leadership or club opportunities related to strength and conditioning
Maintain the strength and conditioning facility and ensure safe operation of all equipment
Communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, parents, and staff
Perform other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job may require lifting and moving equipment or objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:
- Ability to demonstrate strength and conditioning techniques and exercises.
- Ability to visually monitor student-athletes during workouts and activities.
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, climb stairs, and move throughout indoor and outdoor athletic facilities.

WORK CONDITIONS
Work will occur in indoor and outdoor athletic environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and conditions.
Evening and weekend work will be required.
