QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma/G.E.D.

Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

SUPERVISES

Cafeteria Staff

JOB GOALS

To ensure an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness in which students may be served nutritious, attractive meals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Supervises and participates in the preparation and serving of food.

1. Supervises the storage and care of foods and supplies.

1. Sees that menus promulgated by the food services director are followed without deviation.

1. Oversees and participates in the cleaning of kitchen, serving, storage and dining areas.

1. Assumes responsibility for checking that all equipment in the cafeteria area is in safe, working condition, and notifies the appropriate authority when repairs or replacements are needed.

1. Maintains records on food and supplies received and used.

1. Keeps employee time records.

1. Plans work schedules and arranges for substitutes when required.

1. Any other assignment as given by the Director of Child Nutrition.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 40 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighting up to 20 pounds. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:

WORK CONDITIONS

May experience some discomfort due to exposure to noise and temperature and as a result of standing for periods of time on inadequate floor material.

Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
