What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Intern position at Warp?
About Warp
Warp is building logistics infrastructure for modern enterprise shippers. Our network helps companies move freight across first mile, middle mile, cross-dock, linehaul, and final mile operations through a tech-enabled, asset-light logistics platform.
We work with national brands, retailers, and high-growth companies that need faster, more flexible, and more reliable freight networks.
About the Role
Warp is hiring a Business Development Intern to help grow our customer pipeline and support our sales team. This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to learn enterprise sales, logistics, startups, and how to build a go-to-market engine from the ground up. You will work directly on prospecting, market research, outbound campaigns, customer analysis, and sales operations.
This role is based in Los Angeles and is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career candidate who is hungry, smart, competitive, and excited to build inside a fast-moving startup.
What You’ll Do
- Research prospective customers across retail, e-commerce, food and beverage, industrials, and other logistics-heavy industries
- Build targeted prospect lists and identify the right decision-makers at each company
- Support outbound sales campaigns through email, LinkedIn, and other channels
- Help qualify inbound and outbound opportunities
- Work with the sales team to prepare customer briefs, account research, and meeting prep
- Analyze customer shipping networks and identify where Warp can help
- Help maintain CRM hygiene, sales reporting, and pipeline tracking
- Support follow-ups, proposals, and customer-facing materials
- Identify new verticals, markets, and customer segments for Warp to pursue
- Jump into messy, ambiguous sales and growth projects and help turn them into repeatable processes
What We’re Looking For
We care most about raw intelligence, ownership, and work ethic.
The ideal candidate is:
- A recent graduate or early-career candidate with a strong academic background
- Hungry, competitive, and willing to do the unglamorous work required to win
- Clear, concise, and professional in written communication
- Comfortable researching companies, people, and industries
- Analytical enough to understand customer operations and spot business opportunities
- Highly organized and able to manage many moving pieces at once
- Excited by startups, logistics, sales, and real-world problem solving
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities
- Persistent, coachable, and eager to learn
Sales or logistics experience is helpful but not required. We are looking for someone smart, driven, and ready to move fast.
Why Join Warp
This is not a typical internship. You will work on real sales opportunities, real customers, and real company growth.
You will get the opportunity to:
- Learn enterprise sales from the inside
- Work directly with a fast-growing logistics startup
- Help build Warp’s customer pipeline
- Understand how modern freight networks are sold and operated
- Work closely with company leadership and the sales team
- Potentially convert into a full-time role after the summer
