What we are looking for
Organized, detail-oriented and energetic candidates to work with internal and external contacts with a service mindset and can-do attitude to perform the duties of the position including, but not limited to:
- Submit and track underground utility locate requests through Gopher State One Call (GSOC) system to support safe field operations of the company’s Traffic Control operations team.
- Review maps and project information to accurately identify and input dig locations into the GSOC system.
- Coordinate with project managers and field personnel to gather required details for locate requests.
- Track active tickets, including start dates, expiration dates and clearance status.
- Communicate ticket status updates to project managers and field personnel to ensure work does not begin without proper clearance.
- Follow-up with utility companies or locating services regarding missing, incomplete or delayed ticket requests.
- Maintain organized digital records of locate tickets, confirmations and related communications.
- Proactively submit tickets in advance based on project schedules to avoid delays.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies between marked utilities and planned work areas.
- Support continuous improvement of tracking and communication processes.

- High school diploma or GED.
- Able to work between the core hours of 7:30 am - 4:30 pm with willingness to start as early as 7 am or stay as late as 5 pm, on occasion.
- Thrive in a fast moving environment being effective and efficient.
- Ability to operate general office equipment effectively such as desktop/laptop, printer, copier, and phone and a smart phone to accomplish work tasks.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.), mapping tools or GIS systems.
- Must have the ability to interact with external and internal customers in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment, working independently with a high degree of problem solving.
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks while simultaneously meeting all goals and deadlines.
