Traffic Control Drivers - Hiring for Rochester

Warning Lites of MN is expanding our team. We are looking to hire highly motivated individuals as Traffic Control Laborers and Drivers. Whether it is setting up a safe work zone, working in the warehouse, loading/unloading trucks or delivering product throughout Rochester and surrounding area, these key employees keep our day-to-day operations on track.

The Role:

As a TC Laborer, your responsibilities will include:

• Working in our Rochester shop to maintain and repair our traffic control equipment.
• Loading and unloading equipment on to and from trucks.
• Helping drivers set up a safe work zone that ensures that traffic does not cause a threat to workers and the general traveling public. This involves setting up signs, barrels, barricades, and other approved traffic control devices that will guide the public through a work zone safely.
• Work independently or part of a traffic control crew.

As a TC Driver, your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up a safe work zone that ensures that traffic does not cause a threat to workers and the general traveling public. This involves setting up signs, barrels, barricades, and other approved traffic control devices that will guide the public through a work zone safely.
• Takes direction from various road authorities and event planners, as it relates to project work.
• Work independently or part of a traffic control crew.
• Operate company vehicles to deliver and remove traffic control devices from jobsites.
• Performs shop work as required including preparing orders, cleaning and repairing equipment, and general housekeeping.

The Basics:

TC laborers and drivers don’t mind the Minnesota weather and have a high regard for safety and excellent customer service. Successful candidates enjoy the physical demands of the position, are highly self-motivated, detailed, and take initiative to get the job done right while managing multiple tasks at once. We provide on-the-job training for the tasks that the TC laborers and drivers will need to perform but we do require the following:

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (as determined by our insurance company).  CDL drivers are encouraged to apply.
• Able to utilize a GPS device and read a map
• Ability to work long hours during Spring/Summer/Fall months
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and an occasional holiday
• Must have the ability to lift and carry heavy objects (70 pounds), walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
• Must have the ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Must have working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information
• Experience performing manual labor.  Traffic control experience a !

Preferred for drivers:

• Driving experience in professional setting
• 3 years of overall, consistent work experience

We offer:

• Competitive hourly pay $22/hr. to $25/hr.**
• Opportunity for Prevailing Wage (approx. $40 to $50/hr.). Prevailing Wage jobs earn overtime for working more than 8 hours per day.
