Summary and relationship to the curriculum: All classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the system mission statement. This position serves as lead to team members that are on a rotation cycle to schools by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
- Responsible for coordinating and prioritizing maintenance needs with building principal.
- Visually inspects facilities and equipment.
- Dismantles defective equipment and installs new or repaired parts, to include but not limited to plumbing and electrical.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Directly supervises team members.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with system policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Teams Supervisor.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Education and/or Experience: A one year certificate from an accredited technical school; or six months related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificate or License Required: Valid Georgia driver's license.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondences; Ability to speak effectively before a group of system employees.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate; ratio; and percent.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
