Warner Pacific University is seeking a dedicated Adjunct Instructor for Nursing to join our team on a per-diem basis. This position is ideal for experienced RNs, nurse educators, or semi-retired clinicians who want to stay connected to the profession by teaching upper-division nursing courses and/or providing hands-on clinical instruction at healthcare facilities throughout the Portland metro area.

This flexible teaching role may include classroom-based lectures, laboratory instruction, or clinical site supervision, depending on the candidate's experience and interest. Our curriculum covers areas such as care management, health promotion, population health, professional leadership, and evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach assigned nursing courses or provide clinical instruction at affiliated healthcare sites.
  • Teach lecture and laboratory sections as assigned modeling current best practices in teaching, and demonstrating a commitment to sound andragogical and pedagogical practices.
  • Serve as a mentor and guide to nursing students in both academic and clinical settings.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student success.
  • Promote best practices in nursing education and adult learning.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and healthcare partners to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to a Christian liberal arts education by upholding the mission of the University and abiding by the Employment Standards and Lifestyle Agreement.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing required.
  • Current unencumbered RN license in Oregon.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Previous teaching or precepting experience strongly preferred.
  • Commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning and clinical education.
