- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and evaluating oral health status
- Take X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in Dentrix
- Follow infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations to protect patient information and ensure a sterile environment
Qualifications
- Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state licensure
- Proven experience in dental office settings, with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with the dental team
- Excellent bedside manner making sure to always put the patient's needs first
