Kitchen Assistant - Kroontje Warm Hearth Village Blacksburg, VA Warm Hearth Village is searching for a dedicated Full Time Kitchen Assistant to become part of the team at the Kroontje Health Care Center. FREE MEALS EVERY SHIFT YOU WORK! Starting payrate at $14.50 per hour No previous experience in food service is required--we're looking for people with excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work as a part of a team. We provide company paid ServSafe certification and CPR/FA, along with uniforms and work shoes. This position can be a steppingstone to further career opportunities throughout Warm Hearth Village and the wider healthcare field. This is a great way to get your foot in the door in dining services and at Warm Hearth Village. Requirements: Minimum high school diploma or GED Be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds. Ability to walk and stand for the majority of each shift. Shifts hiring for: Full Time 12:00 noon to 8:30pm with every other weekend shifts. Requiring 1 hire for this position Expected start date is as soon as possible. Benefits: We have a robust benefits package with a low-cost HSA plan for FT employees. PT employees are offered dental and vision. FT employees earn four weeks of PTO per year and have access to 5 days (40 hours) of PTO upon hire. Responsibilities: Greet residents upon arrival and serve them in a timely manner. Assure dining room is cleaned and stocked. Wash and sanitize dishes and equipment. Handle food in a safe and sanitary manner according to local and state guidelines. Communicate suggestions from residents to managers. Assist in meal preparation.
