About Warm Blessings:
Warm Blessings is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Hardin and surrounding counties since 2005. We provide a four-day-a-week day shelter, community dinners, senior and mobile meal delivery, and case management to neighbors facing food insecurity and housing instability.
About the Role:
As a Homes for All AmeriCorps Member, you will provide direct, guest-facing support during day shelter, dinner service, and our Radcliff mobile meal route — conducting guest intake, screening for housing needs, and connecting guests to services such as housing search assistance, benefits applications, and landlord outreach. You'll help introduce a standardized housing screening tool (VI-SPDAT) for the first time at Warm Blessings, and you'll also take on real volunteer recruitment and coordination work, building scheduling and retention systems for our 167 volunteer base.
Responsibilities:
- Guest intake and housing needs assessment
- Case management support alongside our Program Coordinator
- Street outreach on the Radcliff mobile meal route
- Volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and coordination
- Support for our transition to the OASIS data system
What We're Looking For:
- No specific degree or prior experience required
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
- Strong people skills and a calm, steady demeanor
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check
- Minimum age 17
