Role Description
Warehouse Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Warehouse Maintenance Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of our warehouse and material handling equipment. This position requires hands-on experience in electrical wiring and repair, welding, carpentry, and preventative maintenance with a strong focus on industrial warehouse equipment including forklifts, dock doors, and dock levelers.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and capable of troubleshooting facility and equipment issues with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure that all forklift equipment is operating properly and safely
- Operates all material handling equipment required
- Ensure maintenance tasks throughout the facilities are being completed according to schedule
- Responsible for the inspection and repair of doors, dock plates, racking and additional equipment
- Responsible for inspecting building and grounds and performing general building maintenance including dock levelers, racking, and lighting
- Maintains forklift and building maintenance operational history by initiating and updating records
- Perform building and equipment audits
- Coordinate and track preventative maintenance
- Initiate and schedule repairs
- Perform repairs on equipment
- Maintains safe work environment
- Monitor and maintain battery maintenance
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience with various types of material handling equipment including forklifts, order pickers, clamp trucks is a plus
- Building maintenance experience including lighting, dock doors, dock levelers
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Must have a strong attendance record
- Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Forklift certified or able to obtain certification
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
- Technical courses and training a plus
