What you’ll be doing:
- Transporting trailers, vans, and other equipment to customers via tractor.
- Performing pre-trip and post trip equipment, tractor, trailer inspection to identify any operational issues.
- Maintaining and service vehicle as needed (fuel, tire pressure, clean windshields, etc.
- Comply with ICC and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Track and record working hours as required by law.
- Follow direction by appropriate technology (i.e., GPS, maps, etc.)
- Record movement of equipment by date, time, location, etc. Accurate record keeping.
- Be aware of weather and road conditions when operating vehicle.
- Accurately report on shop work order of work performed.
- Skilled at parking large, heavy equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Alert, focused, and detailed oriented
- Physically & mentally fit
- Excellent communication skills with dispatch, supervision, and customer interaction.
- Climb in and out of truck cabs, inspect equipment by bending, stooping, and walking around equipment.
- Sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
- Inspect equipment for safe operation.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Class A CDL
- 2 years proven experience in commercial truck driving (Required)
- Clean driving record.
- Must pass a background test and drug screen.
