Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and identify their needs through active listening and engaging conversation
- Present furniture products confidently, including conducting product demos to highlight features and benefits
- Assist customers with retail sales transactions using POS systems, ensuring accurate cash register operations and cash handling
- Upsell complementary items and accessories to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain well-stocked shelves and organized displays through regular stocking and merchandising efforts
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, phone calls, and offering expert advice on product knowledge, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Handle retail store product knowledge updates, including staying informed about new arrivals and promotional offers
Requirements
- Previous retail sales experience, preferably in furniture or home goods environments
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, retail math, and cash drawer handling
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Experience supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory management
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques to create attractive displays that drive sales
- Excellent phone etiquette for engaging with customers over the phone or via online inquiries
