DEFINITION:
To perform, under supervision, storeroom or receiving duties in the Warehouse, and to do related work as required.
DUTIES: Storeroom duties include inspecting and accepting assigned stock from receiving; storing stock in assigned bins and store areas; issuing supplies on stores invoices and semester requisitions; packaging, marking and moving supply orders to the shipping area; notifying supervisor of spoiled, damaged and obsolete items; keeping assigned areas clean and orderly. Receiving duties include inspecting shipments for quantity, quality and damage and reporting deviations; physically loading and unloading trucks and palletizing; handling non-standard (non-stocked) items for reshipment to point of use; and keeping assigned areas clean and orderly. Regular and frequent contact in person and by telephone with employees in own and other Oakland Unified School District departments. May have contact with vendors, carriers and salvage firms regarding individual shipments or sales.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school graduate or equivalent. Warehouse or receiving experience desirable. Must have general knowledge of arithmetic and record keeping. Ability to learn receiving, inspecting. stocking, filling orders and shipping operations and the processing of routine documents in these operations and maintenance of inventory controls and records. Ability to operate forklift and mota trucks.
