Job Summary
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for inventory stocking, order preparation and cleaning the warehouse and surrounding property. This is a heavily physical role requiring active and repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
Specific duties include:
- Picking, packing and QA of orders
- Loading vehicles for delivery
- Stocking inventory, both physically and utilizing a forklift
- Operating a forklift
- Organizing inventory and warehouse
- Cleaning warehouse, vehicles and surrounding areas to maintain an excellent and professional environment
- Trash removal
- Maintaining an organized work area
- Willingness and ability to fill in for other roles, if needed, including delivery or order entry
- Assist in warehouse inventory reconciliation activities
- Ability to use a computer and inventory bar-coding technology
- Special projects as assigned
- Weekly and monthly meetings
Requirements
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during stocking, order picking & packing, and shipping & receiving tasks
- Must be able to operate a forklift and obtain/maintain certification
- Must have and be able to maintain a valid drivers license
- Must be able to communicate with people effectively
- Must have basic mathematical skills and be able to operate a calculator
- Must have a positive, “can-do” attitude
- Must be an achiever
- Must be a team player
- Must have a clean driving record and be insurable
- Must be able to pass a background check (i.e. police backgrounds, reference checks…)
- Must be drug free and willing to submit to a drug test
Physical Requirements
- Ability to repetitively lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and move within a warehouse environment
- Ability to drive with no limitations, including at night
Preferred Skills
- Strong experience in inventory management and warehouse distribution operations
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and best practices for materials handling in a warehouse setting
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues related to forklifts or other machinery
