Ware Family
Floyds Knobs, IN Full Time
POSTED ON 7/20/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/17/2026

A warm and welcoming family in Floyds Knobs, Indiana is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced full-time nanny to care for their three sons, ages 10, 8, and 6. They are looking for someone who is eager to become a long-term member of their family's support system.

The family's youngest son has Down syndrome and autism. He is generally non-verbal, communicating with approximately 20 words, and requires assistance with daily routines, including eating and toileting. His care is similar in many ways to that of a toddler, and the family is specifically seeking a nanny with prior experience supporting children with autism and developmental differences. Patience, consistency, and a nurturing approach are essential, along with a willingness to learn his unique communication style and help him thrive.

The older boys are active, school-aged children, and the nanny will help keep the family's daily routine running smoothly. Responsibilities include preparing the children for school, providing school drop-offs and pickups, transporting them to activities as needed, and creating a positive, engaging environment before and after school. A vehicle will be provided by the family for all work-related transportation.

During school hours, the nanny will assist with light household tasks to help support the family's daily needs. These may include children's laundry, tidying common areas and play spaces, meal preparation for the children, organizing, and other household responsibilities as time allows. The family offers guaranteed full-time hours, even while the children are at school.

The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to approximately 5:00–5:15 p.m. Compensation ranges from $22–$26 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

The family currently has the children's grandmother serving as their nanny, but they anticipate she will be ready to step away from the role in the near future. While they would love to find the right person as soon as possible, they are not in a rush and are willing to wait for an exceptional candidate.

The family also has two friendly cats, so applicants should be comfortable around pets.

The ideal nanny is reliable, patient, proactive, and experienced working with children with autism and developmental disabilities. Most importantly, they are looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and excited to build a meaningful, long-term relationship with their family.
